Basic Knowledge Of Diving Suits

The most common wetsuits are made of foam rubber, preferably neoprene, in sandwich form, with nylon cloth or lycra wrapping the foam rubber. Therefore, the thermal insulation effect of the wetsuit mainly depends on the foam rubber, and the thermal insulation effect of the wetsuit made of the two fabrics is the same. Fit comfort depends on nylon or lycra cloth.

Foam Rubber Description:

Foamed rubber is the main function layer of the diving suit to prevent cold and keep warm, sunscreen and wear-resistant. Its quality directly determines the quality, effect and service cycle of the diving suit. Different thicknesses and stitching patterns determine the suitable environment for wetsuits.

Neoprene rubber has high tensile strength, elongation and reversible crystallinity, and good adhesion. Aging resistance, heat resistance. Excellent oil and chemical resistance. It is a better choice for diving suits.

In addition to the above functions, foam rubber can also provide certain buoyancy to a certain extent, which is helpful for diving/snorkeling.

Table Cloth Material Description

1. The difference between nylon and Lycra: In its surface cloth, one is nylon cloth and the other is Lycra cloth. Lycra has more threads per unit area and denser knitting, so it is more wear-resistant. In addition, the elasticity of Lycra is better, so the wetsuit made of Lycra will not deform.

2. The lifespan of both fabrics: Lycra wetsuits will last longer than nylon wetsuits.

3. The price of two kinds of fabrics: Nylon fabric has a place in the market, mainly because of its relatively low price. Relatively speaking, the price of Lycra fabric is relatively high.

4. Non-functional choices: Since there are many colors of Lycra fabrics available on the market, if you want your diving suit to be dazzling in the water, then Lycra fabrics will be a better choice.

Wetsuits both keep you warm and protect you from scratches, stabs, abrasions, etc. from coral reefs and the like. Generally speaking, there are three basic styles that are popular on the market:

1. Jellyfish clothing (tights)

2. Wetsuit

3. Dry suit.
